Independent testing in China certifies the outstanding performance of RFS’ corrugated aluminum cable
Shanghai, July 19 , 2010 - Radio Frequency Systems (RFS), the global wireless and broadcast infrastructure specialist, today announced that its CELLFLEX® Lite corrugated aluminum transmission lines has passed a series of rigorous tests conducted by China Telecommunication Technology Labs (CTTL), China's most authoritative independent laboratories. The tests confirm that RFS' CELLFLEX Lite corrugated aluminum cables deliver superior performance in key areas, such as return loss, attenuation, crush resistance, corrosion resistance and durability in extreme temperatures.CTTL is China's leading telecommunications test laboratory. It operates under the China Academy of Telecommunication Research (CATR), the Chinese government's only national telecom research institution. RFS submitted its CELLFLEX Lite foam dielectric corrugated aluminum outer conductor coaxial cable to CTTL for mechanical and electrical performance testing.
Based on the China Communications Standards Association YD/T 1092-2004 standard, which is the standard for RF coaxial cables in the wireless communications industry, RFS' CELLFLEX Lite cables met or surpassed requirements in each of the 17 strict tests. These included tests for attenuation, Voltage Standing Wave Ratio (VSMR) impedance, bending radius, crush resistance, corrosion resistance and temperature cycle testing.
The CTTL test results verify that the CELLFLEX Lite cables provide the robust construction and superior RF performance needed to meet China's national standards and technical requirements. They also prove that the CELLFLEX Lite cables are an ideal alternative to copper cables for large-scale projects and rapid roll-outs, providing the superior performance of a lightweight solution with a lower and more predictable entry price point to help operators optimize their wireless network infrastructure.
This is not the first time the CELLFLEX Lite cables have excelled in independent Chinese tests. In July 2007, the Information Transmission Lines Quality Inspect Test Center (now the No. 23 Research Institute of China Electronics Technology Group Corporation) tested the cables. Validating their superior performance, all of the tests on the CELLFLEX Lite cables also met or surpassed the wireless communication industry's technical requirements.
Operators worldwide recognize the innovation and value provided by the CELLFLEX Lite cables.
